Xandari Pearl, Alleppey
Ranked among top 1% Hotels World wide by Travellers’ Choice in 2021, Xandari Pearl Beach Resort at Mararikulam is a cluster of 25 quaint beachside cottages spread over a 20 acre pristine beach side property amidst organic farms and gardens. Every structure in the resort has free flowing curvy forms inspired by ‘the Pearl’. The cottages have their own private pool and a sandy garden. With playful forms dictated by the lush canopies of trees, the Restaurant, Reception and related spaces are all non air-conditioned semi open spaces where the interiors and exteriors blend seamlessly.
Built predominantly with local bricks and roofed with locally available coconut leaves thatch, the crafted ambience is explored with informal free flowing stone floors in combination with hues of blue, green and white oxides for floors and walls. Recycled timber and bamboo add the vernacular touch to the contemporary interiors.
Total Water Management to make the property self-sufficient in water is achieved with a combination of a rain water harvesting lake, recharging of surface wells and recycling of treated waste-water.
