The Park on Vembanad Lake
Responding to the client's brief to evolve contemporary aesthetics using local materials and craftsmanship, The Park on Vembanad Lake for the Apeejay Park group of hotels, has simple clean minimalistic forms taking off from traditional Kerala architecture. The exterior forms of all buildings have white lime finished walls, rich wood in straight lines for the joinery, handrails with clear glass and coconut thatch for roofs.
With the skills of Inspiration's in-house team of craftspersons, teaming with 'Mancini' - interior designers, the interiors have been given a smooth finish which is a combination of lime, cement and sand for the walls, part of the floors and for all built in furniture. The rustic whiteness of this contrasts with the richness of Kerala's local timber for the floor, loose furniture and doors/windows and expanses of clear glass to capture the picturesque views.
